Clear advice before you commit to work
An existing fire risk assessment might have flagged a concern without establishing the full extent of the work. You may have inherited a building with incomplete records, or need to understand whether an issue can be repaired or requires replacement.
We help you establish what needs attention, what requires further investigation and how to move forward.
Our surveying approach is informed by practical experience of fire doors, firestopping and passive fire protection installation. We consider the defect alongside the realities of putting it right, including access, building use and the surrounding construction.

Fire Door Surveys
Understand the condition of your fire doors and the work they may need.
We inspect accessible doorset components, including door leaves, frames, gaps, seals, hinges, closers and ironmongery. Findings are recorded against individual doors so that defects can be located and recommendations followed through.
Where the available evidence allows, we help distinguish between repairable defects and issues that may require replacement or further investigation.
For communal areas, flat entrance doors, commercial premises and managed properties.

Fire Compartmentation Surveys
Investigate the condition of the construction intended to restrict the spread of fire and smoke through a building.
Our surveys examine accessible compartment walls, floors, service penetrations and associated firestopping. Depending on the agreed scope, this may include risers, ceiling voids, roof spaces and other areas where defects are not immediately visible.
We record the location and nature of findings, together with recommendations for remedial work or further investigation.
For buildings with suspected breaches, incomplete records or concerns raised in an existing assessment.

Passive Fire Protection Condition Surveys
Assess the visible condition of existing passive fire protection systems.
We survey firestopping, fire barriers, protective boarding and related installations within the agreed scope. This can help identify damage, gaps, incomplete work and areas requiring closer examination.
Where an installation cannot be adequately assessed visually, we highlight the need for supporting product information, installation records or further investigation.
For maintenance planning, reviewing existing installations and investigating reported defects.

Targeted & Intrusive Investigations
Take a closer look where a visual inspection cannot provide enough information.
Where agreed and authorised, we can arrange targeted opening-up to investigate concealed construction or suspected defects. The extent of the investigation, access arrangements and responsibility for making good are agreed before work starts.
Our findings explain what has been inspected and what remains unverified.
For concealed areas, recurring defects and recommendations requiring further investigation.

Remedial Advice & Scope Development
Turn survey findings into a clearer plan of work.
We help you review identified defects, understand the recommended action and develop a defined scope for repairs or replacement. This can include separating straightforward remedial items from those requiring additional information or specialist input.
We also consider practical requirements such as access to occupied areas, sequencing and coordination with other trades.
For clients preparing to obtain quotations, allocate budgets or programme remedial works.

Existing Report Reviews & Project Support
Already have a fire risk assessment, fire door report or compartmentation survey?
We can review the relevant findings with you and help establish the next steps. Where a report does not provide enough detail to price or plan the work, we identify what needs checking on site rather than relying on assumptions.
Support can continue through the remedial stage, helping keep the agreed scope, site findings and completion records connected.
For property managers and project teams taking responsibility for outstanding actions.
